2026 OBIAA Award

Hannah LRoncesvalles Village BIA

The Roncesvalles Village BIA has received another award for our ‘Made in Canada, Found on Roncy’ campaign! Along with last year’s TABIA award, OBIAA also recognized the initiative during their 2026 April Conference with a Marketing Award of Merit . The RVBIA, spearheaded by Executive Director Daniele Stoddard, launched the campaign to encourage local shopping and supporting Canadian made products, as response to the ongoing impacts of US tariff increases. .

The initiative was centred around Canadian solidarity in the form of collectable Roncesvalles Village postcards. Shoppers were able to pick them up only in businesses along Roncy, for free, encouraging them to visit their favourite shops, or explore new ones. The campaign started over the 2025 Canada Day weekend, and continued while supplies lasted. Businesses were given posters and signage to display in their windows, many of which are still up today.  We were thrilled to see that 62% of customers who picked up a postcard also purchased something at that time.

The initiative was featured on CityNews, where Board Chair Adam Langley discussed the project, and the impact of shopping local in the Roncesvalles Village community. Watch the interview here!
