In March 2023, the Roncesvalles Village BIA (RVBIA) applied to to the Main Street Innovation Fund for a grant to support an initiative which aimed to showcase the unique aspects of Roncesvalles Village. Through video we aimed to digitally invite viewers to learn more about the amazing businesses located on Roncesvalles and the special owners who run them, as well as some of the best parts of our mainstreet, like the massive 8th Fire mural by Indigenous artist Philip Cote, the Dundas Roncesvalles Peace Garden, and so much more.
Rendezvous on Roncy was born! A unique virtual tour of our mainstreet, Rendezvous on Roncy is an ongoing tour of Roncesvalles Village businesses and features of the street.
We have so far featured an incredible 50 Roncy businesses and are already planning for more for 2025. We hope you will check out all the videos which are posted on our Instagram account.
Below you can find an in-progress map (we are in the process of adding the 20 new videos) which will take you to our original 30 done in 2023.
The intent of the ‘Rendezvous on Roncy’ campaign is that these videos will be an open door to viewers to explore not just the businesses being featured, but also about the rest of Roncesvalles Village and all it has to offer. They are a snapshot of just a few of the many wonderful shops and restaurants we have on this very special main street of ours, many independently owned, and family operated. We hope you enjoy watching the videos as much as we did making them!
Whether you live or work here or are visiting from near or far, from the businesses and organizations to the people and community who make it amazing, there’s so much to love about Roncesvalles Village.
