Established in 2009 in Toronto, Coal Miner's Daughter is the product of many nights discussing how lovely it would be if we could start up our own little shops and share our love of jewellery and fashion with the world, little did we know at the time that we would end up building it together!
Coal Miner's Daughter is made up of owners Janine Haller and Krysten Caddy, along with an amazing team of shop gals. Janine worked in wardrobe at Stratford, the Canadian Opera Company, and Young People's Theatre after studying Costume Design at Dalhousie. Interesting fact: Krysten's great grandmother Rosilla (Rose for short) was a real Coal Miner's Daughter and worked at the Dominion Dress Company in Brantford, ON in the 1930's.

Muttonhead is proudly founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our main focus is slow design - a counter movement to fast fashion. Incorporating slow design while using high quality, durable fabrics allows for our products to outlast trends.
We know the value of local manufacturing, and want to educate others on its importance. We're aware that the cost associated with producing garments domestically is significantly higher than doing so overseas. In order to counteract these costs we keep our margins low in the hopes of making fair trade clothing accessible for everyone.
