The Roncesvalles Village BIA is seeking to fill a temporary contract for the summer of 2025.
We are looking for a Marketing Information Coordinator.
Job description
In this position the selected candidate will develop an understanding of the directive of a Business Improvement Area, including our role and responsibilities as it relates to Roncesvalles Village Business Improvement Area. Guided by the manager, the selected candidate will be tasked with supporting administrative and marketing efforts for the Roncesvalles Village BIA (RVBIA) as well as the upcoming Roncesvalles Polish Festival. This will entail working directly with the RVBIA manager, the social media management & event management contractors both directly and in a support capacity.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Provide general administrative support as required to the Manager.
• Writing & editing copy for various upcoming promotions and events, including for the Roncesvalles Village BIA website and digital newsletter.
• Maintain and update the internal member businesses directory.
• Maintain and update public business directory/website content.
• Publish, optimize, and track online event listings for our annual festival.
• Provide support to the social media manager as required (produce reports, track online listings, copy editing captions, taking photographs etc) for both the RVBIA and the festival.
• Work directly with the event management team on tasks supporting our annual festival. This may include administrative tasks and support, light lifting (decorative event supplies up to 20lbs),
• Coordinate information between the social media management contractor, the event management contractor and the RVBIA.
• Update/Complete Streetscape inventory records (lighting, garden beds, trees etc.) via site walks and Google Sheets reporting.
• Report damage, vandalism to 311 as directed.
• Take minutes for virtual board meetings as guided.
• Interact with business owners as required for marketing collateral drop off and reports.
While this may vary slightly, this role generally will consist of 1/3 RVBIA tasks, 2/3 social media & festival tasks.
Skills required:
• Computer Proficiency. Previous experience with Google Office Suite. Experience with WordPress & MailChimp considered an asset.
• Written and verbal proficiency in English.
• Ability to pivot/multitask.
• Familiarity with Social Media platforms Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and TikTok.
• Ability to follow direction, collaborate with a team and work independently.
• Clear and concise communication required via email, telephone, and in-person visits to members. Previous customer service experience considered an asset.
Due to the hyper-local nature of BIAs, preference will be given to local (Toronto West) residents.
Employment Type: Temporary-Contract
Terms: 35 hours per week. Monday through Friday. 8-week temporary contract July 3, 2025, through August 29, 2025.
Rate: 22$/hr.

About: The Roncesvalles Village Business Improvement Area (RVBIA) exists to improve business conditions for its members on Roncesvalles Avenue through street beautification, property maintenance, and marketing and promotions. The Roncesvalles Village BIA has 270 commercial properties within our catchment, some of which have multiple businesses located within them.
Under the purview of destination marketing, along with other initiatives, including an annual holiday campaign, the RVBIA is the driving force behind the Roncesvalles Polish Festival, North Americas largest celebration of Polish culture, held over two days in September, that attracts upwards of 400,000 visitors over the weekend it is held.
