Support for Grant Applications, e-Commerce, Digital Marketing and Financial Advice
We know that adjusting to the Covid-19 Crisis has been particularly difficult for small business owners. For many of you it has meant putting your business on hold and restructuring your operations.
Support Services
To help you get through these tough times, we can offer support services for free to your business over the next few weeks, through the MBA Students in Action program from the Rotman School of Management, in the following areas:
- e-Commerce site development
- Digital marketing
- Financial advice
- Grant application assistance
Those of you who responded to our survey, and indicated that you wish to benefit from these services will be contacted by our team of MBA students.
If you did not respond to the survey, but wish to tap into these services, please contact Gauraang Dhal at gauraang.dhar@rotman.utoronto.ca.
ShopHERE
You may already have heard of the Shopify program called ShopHERE, which provides businesses a quick and easy way at no cost to get selling online right away. You can receive free support for this with the help of the Rotman MBA students and Digital Main Street. Here’s a reminder to retailers and service providers to take advantage of this program now.
Ritual ONE
For restaurants and other eateries, there is a new opportunity in partnership with the City of Toronto through Ritual One — an online tool enabling businesses in the food industry to take online orders through their existing websites and organize pickup as well as delivery options according to their needs. The special promotion on offer by Ritual ONE waves monthly fees as well as commissions for life, for RVBIA businesses that sign up by June 30. For more information please visit https://ritual.co/partners and reach out to us for support with this.
Delivery Alternatives
Finally, The Roncesvalles Village BIA is working with several partners and volunteers to bring hyperlocal delivery services to the Roncesvalles Neighbourhood. We will be providing you with a list of local delivery options soon for delivery to customers within the Roncesvalles neighbourhood and further field. The goal of this initiative is to give restaurants and retailers cheaper and greener alternatives to third party delivery companies such as Ubereats, DoorDash, etc.
We hope you will take advantage of these free services, while they are available.
Our chair of the Member and Community Relations Committee, Trent Heipel will be in communication with the MBA Students involved. You can reach Trent at (416) 533-4611;6260, should you wish to speak with an RVBIA Board member.
