Anti-Racism and Social Justice Committee Formation

Roncesvalles VillageBIA Board News, Community News, Roncesvalles Village BIA

In recognition of our responsibility to actively foster inclusion and diversity, we have begun forming a Anti-Racism and Social Justice Committee. We are committed to working together to establish and implement changes that will make a meaningful impact in our community. Systemic racism exists within our society and our community is not exempt.

We hope to create a committee of 8-12 folks from all backgrounds with lived experience, interests and/or expertise in spaces of anti-racism and social justice. Additionally, we hope to partner with community advisors from local Indigenous First Nations and the City of Toronto’s Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit, among other advisors.

We will convene our first virtual meeting on August 20th to collectively agree on our mandate, goals, and initial actions.
