The Roncesvalles Village BIA is seeking to fill a temporary contract for the summer of 2026.
Funded in part through the Canada Summer Jobs program, this role is full time from the end of June through the end of August. As per the program’s eligibility requirements, applicants must be citizens of Canada and between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
Working both directly with Roncesvalles Village BIA (RVBIA) staff, and our trusted Social Media Management contractor, the candidate will be focused on supporting the digital marketing efforts for both the Roncesvalles Village BIA and in preparation for the Roncesvalles Polish Festival Celebrating 20 Years. This role is hybrid, Monday through Friday. In-office days will be held at a location in Roncesvalles Village.
Eligibility: This placement is funded in part by the Canada Student Jobs Program; therefore, in order to qualify, participants must:
– Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position
– Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred
– Have a valid SIN
International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.

Start Date: June 25, 2026
Location: Roncesvalles Village (Toronto, ON)
Hours: 35 hours per week (5 days a week); this hybrid position will be 2 days remote, 2 days in office and 1 ‘on location’ for photography and videography support.
Compensation: $21 per hour
Contract Dates: June 25, 2026, through August 29, 2026, with opportunity of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Social Media Coordinator Requirements:
Education
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent required.
Good to have:
Currently attending or a degree or diploma in Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
Experience
- 1+ years of experience managing social media account(s) for a brand, business, or agency.
Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube (Shorts), Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Demonstrated comprehension of platform-specific best practices, trends, and algorithm behaviour
- Familiarity with both in-app and third-party platform scheduling tools
Good to have:
Experience with paid social campaigns (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads)
Understanding of Social Media Analytics
Strong video editing skills, particularly in CapCut
Strong graphic design skills in Canva
Content Creation & Design Requirements:
- Comfortable being on camera and/or guiding on-camera talent
- Ability to shoot high-quality photos and short-form video content using a smartphone
- Eye for basic photography and lighting
Writing & Strategy Skills
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice across platforms
Good to have:
Ability to translate brand messaging into engaging, scroll-stopping content
Experience developing content calendars and monthly content plans
Analytics & Reporting
- Comfort with social media analytics and performance reporting
- Ability to interpret data and adjust strategy based on insights
Assets:
- Strong pulse on/ interest in internet culture, memes, and emerging trends
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in developing their social media skillset
- Self-starter with a creative, problem-solving mindset
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong time management, self-motivation, and proficiency in remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace)
This role is best suited for someone who is passionate about social media and is looking to grow their skill set. An interest in community building and street festivals is also an asset!.
