Visitors of the Roncesvalles Polish Festival are invited to stop by the Roncesvalles United Church to take part in an immersive experience exploring the historic sport of indigenous lacrosse.
Taking place during the Roncesvalles Polish Festival in the Roncesvalles United Church, a two day celebration of Indigenous lacrosse will be open to visitors. The event will delve into the sacred history of indigenous lacrosse and its use as conflict resolution, and will culminate in the first lacrosse game played in a church sanctuary!
From 11-2 on Saturday the event will host drop in skills training for kids where every participant will go home with a free key chain! There will also be a lacrosse stick carving demonstration, as well as a meet and greet with a Toronto Rocks player.
11-2 on Sunday features an interactive presentation about the history of lacrosse as a sport, a healing practice, and as conflict resolution. The day will also feature opening ceremonies and a lacrosse game!
