Following a successful Open House last Saturday, the Revue Film Society will be having a fundraising party, to be hosted by The Local pub, located just next door. This “Revue Revival” party will take place on August 25 at 2pm until close.

From the Society’s website:

The benefit concert will help the Revue Film Society toward its fundraising goal of $90,000. So far, donations from individuals and businesses total $65,000. The funds are needed to upgrade technology, make repairs to the theatre, and provide working capital.

The film society, a community-based non-profit, started leasing the historic theatre at 400 Roncesvalles Ave. on August 1. It expects to have the cinema operating in early fall.
